ABOUT TELANGANA

About Telangana

Located in southern India, Telangana is a fast-growing state centered on its capital, Hyderabad, home to world-class industries such as IT, pharmaceuticals, aerospace and startups.

Combining advanced technology with a rich culture, the state actively pursues international collaboration with countries around the world in the economic, educational and research fields.

Why Telangana?

JICO regards building relations with Telangana (capital: Hyderabad), one of the fastest-growing states in India, as a key pillar of its business development. We see it not merely as a potential market, but as a partner with whom we have built trust through repeated visits and dialogue.

About Telangana and Hyderabad

Formed in 2014, Telangana is one of India's newest states. Its capital, Hyderabad, is a major IT hub where global companies such as Microsoft, Google and Amazon have R&D centers, and it is often called the “second Silicon Valley of India.” In recent years it has also grown into a center of the pharmaceutical industry and an emerging hub for startups. Historically rooted in the former Nizam's State of Hyderabad, the city also has a distinctive cultural heritage. It is precisely this combination of growth and multifaceted appeal that leads JICO to place great importance on its relationship with the state.

JICO visited Hyderabad twice, in September and November 2025, making courtesy calls and conducting site visits. Through repeated dialogue with state government officials, we have built a track record of collaboration with stakeholders including Mr. Chinna Reddy, Vice Chairman of the Telangana State Planning Board. Through these ongoing relationships, JICO serves as a reliable point of contact between Japan and Telangana.
